Last week, I was lucky enough to wake up to a dreamy blanket of white snow covering my backyard. This was only the second time it has snowed here this winter, and it almost made up for the lack of snow on Christmas! ^^ Even though I live right next the mountains, snow is a rare treat here since New Mexico is still in the middle of the desert. I snapped some photos while still in my PJs from inside the window. I wasn't brave enough to venture outside in the cold! >_< Above you can see who was brave enough -- my cat Mochi! He is a Siamese ragdoll whose breed actually originated in the sub-freezing temperatures of Siberia, so you can say that he seems pretty at home in the snow ^^

The giant tree in my backyard dusted with fresh snow. You might not be able to tell how ginormous this tree is, but compare it to the edge of my roof to get an idea!
Herbs and other potted plants look really pretty under the snow.
I think my backyard has never looked more like a winter wonderland than under a fresh layer of white flakes ^^
Here you can see the mountains that are very close to my house also dusted with snow. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the reflection of my camera in the window as I take pictures. Just more proof that bloggers never stop photographing EVERYTHING! haha Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my pictures of a snowy day. Happy Sunday!
