Sunday Eye Candy: Tokyo Fashion Inspiration

Japanese Street Fashion: Fairy Kei & Devil Horns

How about a little bit of fairy kei eye candy for your Sunday? I recently came across this picture from Japanese Streets on tumblr. I just love everything about this girl's look. I mean what girl can go wrong with that insanely cute seashell handbag? ^^ It has all of the classic themes of fairy kei (like pastels and 80s inspiration), but a lot of edgy stuff too (devil horns anyone?) which makes this style all her own. That's pretty much what I love so much about Japanese street fashion - there are no rules. No "only this goes with that" or "you're really only fairy kei if you wear...". I think we as Americans miss out on that point a lot, trying to fit every picture of Japanese street fashion into a perfect little label or category when, in fact, it's all about breaking the rules. That's what made those girls on the streets of Harajuku and Shibuya so legendary in the first place, isn't it?
